I realize that I have not updated anything about our experiences for a while. There are a number of reasons for this, mainly that while there are a number of items in motion, they are not happening at a pace where there is a need for many updates. So I thought I would summarize all the big items now by category.
New Apartment
So we finally moved into our new apartment which is around a seven minute walk from where we have been living in Armona (below). It is a 20 minute bus ride to the old city and around 40 minutes direct to the new school that Zoe is going.
The great thing is that we were able to get the items that we shipped in March, which meant that I got the drink mix I put in the drawers of a desk. Also clothes.
As you can see from the picture at the top, we got everything in the apartment, but it is still going to take some time to organize. Zoe (below) got her room organized.
Ulpan
So one of the benefits of coming here is that we get paid language training. Katrina and I decided to take a class at Ulpan La-Inyan. We go on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning. Its a quick pace and while Kat is the star of the show, I am trying to keep up.
New Job
So on August 9th I started a new job as a Tax and Accounting Editor for GreenPoint Global working as a contractor for a customer of theirs, Wolters Kluwer.
In this role, I will be providing documentation regarding changes in Federal and State tax law for Wolters Kluwer tools that are used by tax professionals all over the world. I am still new to the position, but I will be working out of my home, which I am very excited about. More information to come.
